So we have had one night on the train - it's cosy but still not as cosy as the hostel we stayed in.We played lots of games of cards (including some Russian games with Vika's Russian cards - they do not have numbers lower than 6). A cheeky, light hearted but competitive spirit remained in the games of "500s" that Alex, Morris, Claire and myself played. Though Alex and Morris went into an early lead, Claire and I have taken back ground after lulling them into a false sense of security. We are scrutinising Alex and Morris very carefully!
Meals on the train will mainly be cuppa-soups made from hot water from the "samovar" in our carriage. The lack of shower facilities has not started to take effect yet... and there aren't many changes of clothes going on!
The rolling countryside and combined with the poor quality wooden houses and the industrial landscapes continue to be interesting. Many towns we stop and seem to be large industrial areas with very cheap workers' accomodation sprawling around them.
