Shortly after mid-day, and after a broken night's sleep, my train from Yichang to Chengdu arrived. I decided that today would be a rest day, since I would have to get up early tomorrow to fit in a visit to the Giant Panda breeding base before my train out of Chengdu.Resting was my first focus, the second was arranging to get my Tibet permit, which finally arrived by email and which I prompty printed! I am going to Tibet, it's official. I still don't have my train ticket though, and will need to collect that from Xining the day after tomorrow.
Chengdu is in Sichuan, which is known for its spicy food. Chongqing is closely related, so I mananged to have my hotpot there. Tonight I decided to having something more standard so I could sleep and not need the toilet all of tomorrow morning (though in all fairness that didn't happen the last time I had hotpot!).
