After I got up at 4am today, it was really heart-warming when the entire family got up at 430am to see me off. It was still dark when I took the last sad photo of all of us together.Then it was time for the 1.5 hour drive to Amritsar airport. Unfortunately, I have had to fly to Bangkok due to the dodge, dangerous and uncertain border conditions with Myanmar (Burma).
I flew with Air India, which was a far better experience than I expected - I would highly recommend them. The staff were courteous and wore saris, there was a good amount of leg room and the on-flight meal was delicious (mutton curry, sabzi, rice, yoghurt and and a giant gulab jaman).
