Day 75 - Around Battambang (26 August)

Today was Dave's last day with us on holiday - I know that Cathy is going to miss him very much! We had a lazy and relaxing last day in Battambang, focussing mostly sitting down and eating and drinking. In our strive to find ever bizzare loads being taken, we spotted an absolutely massive rod being pulled off into the distance (see left). The men who were mounted upon it wore balaclavas - were they up to no good?

We made a cursory visit to Battambang Museum. I was glad it only cost 1$ to enter... it was very small and took us 10 minutes to soak up enough culture! The problem was that we had already been to Angkor Wat, so the temple remains on display were poultry compared to our experiences. Furthermore, there was no proper explanation of any of the artifacts on display.

As we left the temple, I saw some really dodgy looking bamboo scaffolding and got a very good picture of some monks shielding themselves from the intense sun.

Later that night, we dropped Dave off at the bus station (he had a night bus to Phnom Phen to get his flight back to the UK).
