Errands galore!

Well, we didn't see any lunar eclipse last night :-(. We did, however manage to get a nice sunset reflecting off  the windows in the flats opposite. We also substituted our loss by playing "Whist" until late. This does mean that we got up late - the joy of not being tied to a hotel breakfast!

Today was a day of errands for me. Having been to Berlin before, I have taken some hours out to do laundry (and make use of my travel washing line!), top-up supplies and to verify my ticket to Minsk.

My (partly Russian, partly German and partly hand-written!) ticket to Minsk didn't say which station in Berlin it departs from (one would assume the "main" Hauptbanhnoff). Therefore I joined a very long queue at one of the bigger stations to find out. Possibly due to language barrier issues, the stern and grumpy woman at the information desk gave me hard time, insisting on asking me which station I was going from since it didn't say on the ticket.  I did keep on telling her that it was what I had come to find out!

I now know that I go from Berlin-Lichtenberg!

I should shortly be reconvening with the others, and later on meeting with Martin Kühn who is a contact I've made in Germany through work.

P.S. Thumbs-up and applause to Stu who recognised that one of the pictures that I posted last night was of Venice and my Canaletto!
