By yesterday evening, the entire 8-strong group for the Intrepid Travel "Russia and beyond" trip met together. We had supper at a traditional Soviet Restaurant, and met our guide, Vika. Clock-wise from the left: Me, Vika (leader from Ukraine), Neils (Germany), Jonathan (Singapore), Alex (UK), Eva (Germany), Dennis (Australia), Claire (New Zealand), Morris (Wales) and to Claire (NZ), but married to Morris and both living in NZ.
Vika has already been an immensely excellent leader. She has a lot of weight on her shoulders keeping us organised - she will need to make sure we don't miss the weekly train when in Mongolia! She gave us a brilliant walking tour of St Petersburg, and a lot of local insight, including the best places to eat. Below is a picture of the Hermitage/Winter Palace.
