DAY 42 - Seeing Stu off (23 July)

This was the early morning start to see Stu off the airport - a sad occasion. This time all of his flights were on time, and he nursed his bad stomach all the way back to England (where the weather is still bad!). And after over a month with company of one kind or another, I would be back to being a lone traveller.

I took the opportunity to try the Maglev train back into town - 301kph (187mph), though apparently it is capable of 400kph.

I lost a bit of sight-seeing momentum today, but managed to get loads of planning for the week ahead done. I will be going to Chongqing (a 14 hour seated train ticket overnight!) so that I can join a boat tour along the Yangtze river. Today was a day for lots of emailing and sorting stuff out.

Tibet is still not certain - still waiting to see if the permits will be given, and whether my investment in the opportunity (and flip-side risk) will pay off or not. If it doesn't happen, it'll all still be within my risk appetite! (I hope that statement made you all happy and work!).
I had some prawn & vegetable dumplings tonight, at the local restaurant. Yum.
