Two activities today - the renowned bird park and meeting up with our friend Steve.
The bird park really was excellent - the biggest "open air" bird park in the world, apparently. There were many fine specimens, all of which I can not go through here! Definitely not a place to go after you have just seen Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds". Pictured are: A Heron; a cluster of flamingoes; a buffy fish owl, a scarlet ibis, a peacock caught at just the right moment; some bird feeding; and some happy parrots. At one point, a parrot did say "Hello" to me several times!

After checking out of our hotel, we went to meet Steve, an old friend of ours from Bristol. He has been teaching in Kuala Lumpur for 1 year now. He lives in a swanky apartment (see view!). He took us to a great Malaysian food court, where we sampled frog porridge and chicken rendang, amongs other things.

Then it was into town to meet some of Steve's friends - we went via the double-decker tunnel that also gets closed and used for flood waters when required! A feat of engineering says Steve! From the left, Steve, Cathy, Dave and Jenny who are on their honeymoon, Lou who has been teaching in Kuala Lumpur for 4 years, and then me! It was a good chance to meet different UK residents that had come there from different perspectives!
Tomorrow we catch the bus to Melaka.
