There were some nice views of India out of the train window today. I took advantage of the fact that the doors open while moving to participate in the Indian tradition of hanging out of the side of the train!
After Delhi, my compartment was innunndated with Punjabi ticket inspectors. This resulted in being looking after and free tea - especially after they learned I was of Punjabi origin! The train was severley delayed (my first delayed train of the trip), so I arrived in Jallandhar Cant very late, where I was picked up by my dad and my brother Bablu (this is my dad's brother's son for for those English people who are confused by the use of brother! I will also be referring to Didi/sister in a similar way!).
There was just enough time to eat and say hello to those who were still awake before retiring - but we are all waiting for the full moon on Saturday when the whole family will get together for the Rakshan Bhandan festival.
