Another lazy start with a bit of street-food brunch. I had a very spicy Kung Po Chicken - very nice!! You could see more chillis in it than anything else!
We had booked the 1pm "VIP" bus to Kuala Lumpur - three big seats per row. The initial experience was far from "VIP". We think it was an excuse - the VIP bus couldn't get up entry road to the Cameron Highlands, so would have to meet us further down the other side. So our first leg of the journey was on a rickety local bus for 2 hours down to Tapah. If you get a bus in Tanah Rata, DO NOT use the compqany that has a kiosk furthest from the road!
Pulling faces seemed like a good way to pass the time.
The VIP service changed buses in Tapah where we had to walk with our bags for 10 minutes to the Caspian Café - a thoroughly five star transport hub where we were given our onward tickets. It was aptly positioned opposite "The Agro Shop". Luckily, there was an enthralling sign shop next door to help pass the time while we waited for our connection.
Luckily the next bus WAS as advertised, and the remainder of the journey was pleasant.

We booked the Citin Hotel in Kuala Lumpar. Very good value for about £13 each, though it turned out there were two branches very close to each other. The one we wanted was impossible to find easily since it was behind lots of market stalls in Little India. After we found it, we landed ourselves a room on the 8th floor with a fantastic view of the Petronas towers. In-fact the entire night-view out of the back of the hotel was great.
After scouting China town late at night for somewhere to eat (we skipped the tripe and beef balls restaurant, and some dodgy lingering buffets), we found some great street food. The chicken
satays with peanut sauce and prawn wantons were delicious! I also had a great chicken and cashew nut dish - I asked for extra chillis - they were fiery!
